5 YEARS LATER

It is a lightweight novel that depicts the story of South Korea, where the five-year marriage renewal system was introduced, and offers alternatives to how the country can support low birth rates in areas such as family, population reproduction, care labor, education, and welfare.

Among the Writer's Words

T he novel was created by embodying the idea that the state should focus on the value of care work and have a compensation system accordingly so that various problems, including the low birth crisis, can be solved. I believe that many inequalities will be resolved if care labor is recognized for its proper value, and anyone regardless of gender or labor can receive education and training related to it and be recognized for their career. This is also connected to how to effectively welfare the elderly population in the age of aging. After all, the crisis of low birth has the key to resolving inequality and subsequent conflicts with minorities across society.
